High Level Basketball
High Level Basketball is a boys and girls basketball program based in Belmont. We currently offer camps/clinics during the fall, spring and summer for Grades 3 through Grade 9. High Level Basketball is committed to improving basketball in Belmont by providing high quality coaching while connecting with current and former Belmont basketball players.
Mission/Philosophy
High Level Basketball is designed for the youth in Belmont to become excited about the sport of basketball and master the skills necessary to compete at a high level. The philosophy of “work hard, stay together, see result’s,’’ is the foundation of our program. Players will have the opportunity to meet and work with current and former Belmont High School players where they will learn how to instill values of dedication, team work, perseverance, confidence and learn the makings of having true leadership skills.
The only way for players to get better is through extensive repetition of skills and not being afraid to make mistakes. Players will be encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and take risks in order to learn how to handle adversity. Beyond the court we want to sustain lifelong teammates and friendships, create a sense of worth for each player, sense of community, and develop skills that can help players succeed throughout their lives.
We try to make the game fun and enjoyable while stressing that basketball is a game of fundamentals. We encourage any level of play including beginners to join our camps and clinics. We will try to determine the level of instruction to the individual needs of the student. Students will get to work with current high school Belmont coaches and current and former Belmont High School basketball players.
Meet Our Coaches
Danny Burns-Director- Belmont High School Boys Varsity Basketball Coach
I grew up playing basketball in Woburn, Ma at the age of seven. I fell in love with the game of basketball and continued to play throughout high school, college and adult life. I attended Woburn High School and was a four-year varsity basketball player and senior captain for the class of 2003. I have coached High School basketball since 2012 and was the junior varsity basketball and varsity assistant coach for 5 years for the Winchester High boys basketball program. I then became the Melrose Boys varsity basketball coach for six years where we qualified for the state tournament five out of the six seasons with an overall record of 57-55. After completing my first season at Belmont High School, I look forward to the challenge of building a winning program and sustaining lifelong friendships with players and families in Belmont.
